Applying for a job today can feel like you are shouting into a void – most applications disappear without a response, and it’s hard to know why. For recent graduates, career changers, and mid-career professionals alike, the job search has become more complicated – more competition, more automated screening, and less feedback along the way.

Generation has spent 10+ years training people into life-changing careers across industries worldwide. Now we’re launching a new program designed specifically to address today’s job-search challenges. In 3 weeks, you’ll update your resume and LinkedIn, sharpen your interview skills, learn how AI is changing hiring (including the common pitfalls to avoid), and get direct access to personalized coaching and Generation’s employer network.

What do we offer?

The program combines self-paced online content with weekly live sessions led by expert career coaches. After completing the core modules, you’ll begin working directly with your personal employability coach – who will continue supporting you for up to three months after the program ends. After the program, your coach helps you refine your materials and connects you directly to employers in Generation’s partner network.

The details:

  • Free, Flexible, and Remote Training: You’ll complete the training with an ATS-optimized resume, a stronger LinkedIn profile, a personalized job search plan, and sharper interview skills. This is a part-time, mostly asynchronous program – you decide when to complete the content, working toward clear weekly goals and attending one live session per week. Expect to commit about 10 hours per week over 3 weeks.
  • AI Fluency: AI tools and content are woven throughout the program – not treated as a separate topic – so you build practical skills you’ll actually use in your job search and on the job. Not yet familiar with AI? You’ll also get free access to our AI Foundations course. No prior knowledge needed.
  • AI + Human Coaching Together: We use AI-powered coaching tools to give you immediate, personalized feedback on your resume and job search materials, so when you meet with your coach, you’re spending that time on what matters most to you. You’ll get five hours of face-to-face virtual coaching with your Employability Coach, plus continued support for up to three months after the program ends.
  • Connection to hiring employers. No more applying to a pile and waiting. We facilitate direct introductions to employers who are actively hiring – so your resume lands with a real person, not in a queue. Your coach will help you identify the right opportunities and prepare you to make the most of every conversation.

What jobs can I do after completing the program?

We expect graduates to pursue a range of roles based on their background, experience, and goals –  this is not a program that trains you for one specific job. While many of our employer partners are in tech, we work to facilitate connections across industries. Your coach will help you identify and target roles that are the right fit for where you want to go.

Who is this program for?

This program is open to adult learners of all ages (18+ on August 1st, 2026) who are currently unemployed or underemployed (earning under $75,000 per year). We are prioritizing applicants from the Washington, DC, Atlanta, GA, and Austin, TX areas for our initial cohorts, but applicants in other locations are welcome to apply.

We’re looking for motivated learners who are ready to commit to the program and take an active role in their job search. You don’t need to have all the answers – that’s what we’re here for. Specifically, we’re looking for people who:

  • are actively seeking full-time employment and ready to start a new role after the program
  • are self-starters who can thrive in a remote learning and working environment
  • can speak to examples of commitment, problem-solving, or leadership from their academic or professional lives

Learner requirements

  • 18 years of age or older by August 1st, 2026
  • High School degree or GED equivalent 
  • Currently unemployed or underemployed (working part-time but seeking full-time employment)
  • Have the legal right to work and live in the United States
  • Available to attend one live online session per week and complete approximately 10 hours of asynchronous content per week for the duration of the program
  • Ready to actively pursue full-time employment after completing the program

What industry skills will you learn?

We’ll help you learn the technical and behavioral skills and mindsets with lots of hands-on, interactive sessions across the following sessions:

  • Getting Started on your Career Pathway: Complete a self-assessment to define career pathway goals and target roles. Optional: AI Foundations course for beginners. 
  • Resume Glow Up: Make your resume work harder. Learn how to format and tailor your resume so it gets through automated screening systems, and how to use AI tools to customize it for specific roles –  without letting AI do the thinking for you. 
  • LinkedIn and Your Digital Brand: Build a LinkedIn profile that gets noticed. Learn how recruiters search, what makes a profile stand out, and how to use your digital presence to open doors.
  • Nailing the Interview: Identify best practices and run through several mock interviews, including with industry volunteers. 
  • Communicate and Network like a Pro: Understand the ‘hidden job’ market and power of networking to overcome the competitive job market. Get started on building your network!
  • Creating Your Job Search Plan: So long, “spray and pray!” Understand the most effective way to apply to jobs (spoiler: it’s not high volume ‘Easy Apply’ submissions) and how to best communicate to recruiters. Create a plan for self-care and protecting emotional health during your job search.

AI fluency is embedded throughout each session – you will be introduced to AI-enabled tools to help you use AI strategically across the entire job search:  tailoring applications at scale, researching companies, preparing for interviews, navigating AI-driven screening, and learning how to avoid the common pitfalls of using AI.

Behavioral skills 

Every employer we work with told us these skills matter as much as the technical ones. We weave them throughout the program so you’re ready to hit the ground running on day one. You’ll practice and develop:
