Have questions?

Let’s answer them

What are the basic requirements for the program?

We sincerely appreciate your interest in our program.

Please click here, select the program and learn more about our requirements and mode of teaching in each program.

Is there an age limit to apply?

The minimum age can differ between programs and regions. The absolute minimum age is 18 years old, however this may vary per program. Please make sure to check the requirements on the program page on the website to be sure.

I don’t live in the USA but I am interested, can I apply?

In order to be eligible for one of our programs, you will need to have the Right to Work in the USA and be resident in one of our regions for the program you are applying to. If you do not live in the USA, we would be unable to consider your application. Please do check our global site to see if we have opportunities in your country: https://www.generation.org/

I don’t have a laptop or a poor internet connection. Can I still apply?

Yes, learners can receive access to tech if proven to be needed (e.g., laptop device). Please share your tech needs when you apply (there are specific questions in the application).

Are the programs online or in person and how long do they take to complete?

Our programs are online instructor-led classes which are held via meeting tools (Zoom, MS Teams etc.). The duration varies per program, however the programs are full-time, Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm, unless specified otherwise, and we would need you to be available for the duration of the program.

Is the program fully remote?

Classes are 100% online real time with remote online activities, delivered as a group online or independently working in your own time.

How much does the program cost?

Our programs are free for all learners as they are funded by our incredible partners.

What support will I be provided to secure employment?

Generation graduates continue to be supported by Mentors and receive expert guidance to secure employment. This includes creating stand-out CVs and receiving interview coaching on how to perform at competency and technical interviews. Generation graduates are also introduced to employers looking for entry-level talent through our exclusive Employer Connection Events. At Generation, we are committed to supporting you to gain employment, which is why as standard all graduates are supported for 6 months after graduation to help you land your dream role.

What type of job opportunities should I expect post program?

This program trains you to become a Sales Development Representative or a Business Development Representative, a critical sales role that is responsible for bringing new customers to a company. You will be an essential part of a sales team that is connecting customers to great software products. You will have the opportunity to stay updated with the latest software technologies and trends and build your professional sales abilities. We are seeking to support your placement into fully remote roles that do not require physical travel to an office (some companies may offer hybrid roles where the company covers the cost of any required travel).

Am I guaranteed a place on the program once I have applied?

There are limited spaces available on each program and therefore we cannot guarantee you a place on a program after you apply. To put yourself in the best position make sure you complete your application in a timely manner and show your enthusiasm for your chosen profession.

How do I apply for a program?

Navigate to the program page for your desired career, have a read through and make sure this is the program for you. Once you are sure this is the right path to take, select the “Apply Now” button. If there is an option to register your interest instead of to apply, this means that applications for that program are not currently open. If you register your interest for a program you will be the first to know when applications in your area do open via email.

How long does the application process take and when is the deadline for completing my application?

The application process contains several key stages, each of which should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete. We recommend starting your application as early as possible, to ensure that you can complete all sections of the process before selection and onboarding take place. The key dates in the process will be communicated with you once you start your application.

What can I do to make my application stand out?

Once you’ve made it to the interview stage, we want to get to know more about you and your reasons for wanting to join the program and find a career in that specific industry, so please make sure to give as much information as you can about what you have learnt from our website and information session, along with why you are passionate about a career in your chosen sector. Make sure you read up on the program you have chosen on the website.

Why was my application rejected?

If your application is automatically rejected at our eligibility stage, this will be due to you not meeting one or more of the eligibility requirements for our program. At eligibility stage, rejection reasons will include, but are not limited to, the following:
You do not meet the minimum age requirement
You do not live in one of the regions we serve
You are employed and are not on a zero-hours contract
You will be in education or training at the start of the program
You do not have the relevant right to live and work in the USA
You are not available for the full duration of the program
You are not able to start a job immediately following completion of the program
These may not all be relevant to your application. If you would like further clarification, please email the relevant program inbox and a member of the team will provide you with more details.
Please be sure to read all questions on the application carefully before submitting to ensure your application is not rejected in error.

I was completing my application and got rejected after I submitted my application? What happened?

If you have been rejected, it means that, unfortunately, you did not have the basic requirements necessary to move on to the next stage, so we will not be able to continue with your application. You can learn more about the basic requirements on our website.

We will open new cohorts in the future, so don’t give up! Do keep an eye on our website and social media for the latest news.

I opened my portal today and my page is blank. What should I do?

There are three ways to log into the learner portal; Chrome, Facebook or manual login. This usually happens when the login methods for both processes are different. If you used one of the methods during registration, you should use the same one to log in and see progress.
