Generation ranks #62 in 2023 list of top 200 social good organizations

Once again, Generation ranks among the top 200 social good organizations (SGOs) in the world, according to thedotgood, a platform that connects innovative initiatives in the social good sphere. This year, Generation appears 62nd on the list, 12 positions higher than 2022.

The ranking is the result of a research and evaluation process that reviews social good organizations against three pillars: impact, innovation, and governance. The process uses public data and is conducted by a multidisciplinary team from a variety of locations and languages.

The 2023 Top 200 list includes high impact organizations like BRAC (#1), Greenpeace (#15), Transparency International (#51), Kiva (#70), and ChildFund (#132). Generation’s ranking places it among the top 10 SGOs in the world with a specific focus on education, employment, and/or economic mobility, together with RARE (#18), Barefoot College (#19), and Room to Read (#26), among others.

Thedotgood also introduced the Top 50 SGOs in Brazil as a tribute to the diverse and innovative Brazilian Social Good Sphere. Generation Brazil debuts at #37, alongside other lead organizations like CIEDS (#1), NOSSAS (#3), FA.VELA (#28), and PSA – Projeto Saúde e Alegria (#50).

According to thedotgood: “Anywhere Generation engages in a conversation with a government, a city, a corporation or all 3 together, they come out of the room with a project, a joint initiative, a scalable and sustainable model to support inclusive growth and institutional strengthening.” The report also highlights Generation’s innovative approach to employment: “Generation is serious about its tagline: ‘You, Employed’.”

This recognition reflects Generation’s growth and progress. In 2022, Generation graduated 22,261 learners, more than double the graduation volume of 2021, and worked with 4,414 employers. In the same year, 81% of graduates obtained a job within 3 months of completing the programs, and 88% were placed in jobs directly related to their training. In less than 10 years, graduates have earned $630 million in wages.
