Launch a career in tech with AWS re/Start - Online Class

AWS re/Start is a free, fully online 12-week program to jump-start your career in tech as an AWS Cloud support practitioner — no experience needed.

AWS re/Start and Generation have teamed up with OBT to offer this free, fully online program in New York City. You will learn all you need to know in order to be successful in a technology cloud career – from the technical knowledge to the soft skills that will help you achieve your potential. After you graduate, Generation will connect you with employers and help you transition into your new working life.

This program is a WIOA Title I-financially assisted program. It is an equal opportunity program, and auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

    The online application is simple and you don't need a background in technology to apply.

  2. 2 hours 2

    Attend an Information Session

    Get excited! We'll help you on your journey. Program staff will contact you within 1-2 days of receiving your application.

  3. 30 minutes 3

    In-Person Interview

    We want to support you and learn more about your interests. During the interview, you will meet with Generation and learn more about the program.

  4. 2 hours 4

    Intake Meeting

    During this time you will complete important paperwork to ensure you have the support you need to enroll and succeed in the program.

    Join us for an in-person meet and greet. You will meet your instructor, program coordinator, and mentor. You will also participate in fun icebreakers and leave the event with a clear understanding of what will happen over the course of the AWS re/Start program.

    Class begins!

    Each day of the AWS re/Start program you'll learn new technology and soft skills to help you launch a career in cloud computing.


  • Be between 17-24 years old
  • Be authorized to work in the US
  • Have earned a high school diploma or a GED
  • Be a resident of New York City
  • Have access to a smart phone or other device capable of getting online

    Complete an application.

    Work with Generation to complete the orientation for AWS re/Start. Generation and program staff will make sure you're ready to begin class with the resources you need to succeed.

    Step 3

    Come to class! After you begin the AWS re/Start program you will need to complete all assigned homework and come to class each day ready to learn and engage with your cohort and your instructor.

    Step 4

    Prepare for your next adventure. As training progresses, you’ll work with the Generation team on mock interviews and writing your resume so you are supported and prepared for employment.

    Graduate! Celebrate your achievement with your friends and family. Generation staff will work with you as you apply for jobs and interview with Generation employer partners.
