After completing the program and taking the exam, you will earn your industry-recognized CompTIA Fundamentals & A+ certifications.
This program is open to students age 18 and older. Students age 40 and older will receive specialized mentoring and support through ReGeneration. ReGeneration is presented in collaboration with AARP Foundation. This program is fully supported by the U.S. Department of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Agriculture and other agencies as part of awards totaling $4.3 million (revised annually).

During orientation, staff members will discuss how the program works, and you’ll receive the program handbook and schedule. You will complete the TABE Assessment and your background check will be submitted. Finally, you’ll get to know your instructors, mentors, and the other students in the class.

These industry-recognized credentials provide you with the skills to quickly progress in a technology career in one of multiple sectors.
The hero of any office, the IT Support Specialist keeps technology running smoothly so that businesses can get the job done. As an IT Support Specialist, you'll turn technology frustrations into solutions, identifying issues and troubleshooting when one of your colleagues is having technology problems. In addition to communication and teamwork skills, you'll graduate from Generation with a CompTIA A+ certification that will make you a valued member of any IT team.

During the second week of class, all students, mentors and instructors vote to select a Cohort Leader who will foster community among students and work closely with the city’s Alumni Ambassadors. Cohort Leaders represent Generation behaviors, skills, and mindsets. This person exhibits a high-level of professionalism, engagement with instructional content, and a strong interest in building relationships with fellow classmates. The voluntary Cohort Leader position provides a pathway to becoming an Alumni Ambassador. This position also provides visibility to partners and employers, as well, as national recognition, opportunities and involvement with Generation at a local and national level.
This is more than job training. It's an opportunity to learn alongside your peers and apply your workplace experience as you prepare for a career transition.
The instructors and program staff are there to support you. They will use real-world scenarios to teach you new skills and concepts, and will give you opportunities to practice in a supportive environment.
The right resume is key when you're beginning a career in a new field. No matter what job experience you bring to the program, you'll learn how to adapt your current resume to showcase all of your skills.
By conducting mock interviews and hosting sessions focused on the job search, program staff will help you develop your confidence.
After graduation, program staff continue to follow up with you and your fellow alumni, providing support with the job search and advice for continued success.
